The Great Adventure Challenge
Want to be involved with a team activity that requires strategy, endurance and determination? Want to raise funds for seriously ill children while having fun? Then, look no further… The Great Adventure Challenge is for you.
The Great Adventure Challenge is a fun event for work colleagues and friends who love a challenge. A race over a range of terrain this event requires perseverance, determination and teamwork. It is also a chance to make a difference – all funds raised go directly to the Starlight Children's Foundation in order that they may "brighten the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children across Australia".
This year a maximum of 20 teams will navigate through this exciting race course, covering a range of disciplines such as Mountain Biking, Trail running, Kayaking and Coasteering collecting valuable points along the way. Furthermore teams will also be confronted with mystery tasks at different points along the course, testing the limits of both the brain and the body.
Each team consists of 8 members, including at least one person from the opposite sex. At any one time there will be 4 team members on the course whilst the remaining 4 will act as "support crew". At transitions the team will be able to recharge, review strategy and rotate who is on the course and who is in the support crew. When not on the course the support crew will need to prepare food, clothing, and offer moral support as well as helping to move gear between transitions points.
On completion of the Great Adventure Challenge, competitors and supporters will have a huge sense of achievement, both from a racing perspective and from their fundraising efforts with all funds going to the Starlight Children’s Foundation, helping to brighten the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children.
The winning team (the team which has collected the most points) will be presented with the prestigious Great Adventure Challenge Corporate Cup.
Our promise to our adventurists is a well organised, challenging, fun, competitive experience and an opportunity to make a difference.
